Controller
Guarnotta Industries S.r.l., Via Libertà 40, 91021 Campobello di Mazara (TP), Italy, VAT no. IT02630400816, REA TP-185348. Email info@guarnottaindustries.it, certified email (PEC) guarnottaindustriessrl@pec.it, phone +39 0924 47389. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as this is not mandatory for our activities: for any question about privacy, please write to info@guarnottaindustries.it.
What data we process
Quote requests (Contact page): full name, company, email, phone, country, notes and the technical information in the request (product, capacity, number of tanks, machines of interest). If you come from the tank configurator, also the summary of the configuration you chose.
Service and spare parts requests: the same contact data, the machine, the serial number if given, the description of the problem and any photos you choose to attach (up to 3).
Job applications (Careers page): full name, email, phone, the trade you are interested in, your CV and the message you write to us.
Email, phone and WhatsApp: the data you give us when you write to us or call us.
Browsing: like any website, the server automatically logs technical data about visits (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). To limit abuse, the website keeps for one hour a code derived from the IP address of anyone who submits a form (not the IP address itself), so that no more than 5 confirmation emails per hour are sent to the same address. The tank configurator calculates its proposals without asking for any personal data.
Purposes and legal basis
To answer your requests, prepare quotations and manage any contract, service and warranty: the legal basis is the performance of a contract or of pre-contractual measures (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). To assess unsolicited job applications you send us: pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and Article 111-bis of the Italian Privacy Code). For technical browsing data and protecting the forms from abuse: our legitimate interests in the security of the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). When you submit a form, we send you an automatic confirmation email that does not repeat what you wrote. We do not use your data for marketing communications, profiling or automated decision-making.
What is mandatory
In the forms, the following are mandatory: your name, your email, acknowledgement of this privacy notice and, depending on the form, the sector or the machine (quote request), the machine and the description (service request), the trade and your CV (job application). Without these data we cannot reply to you. All other fields are optional.
Data retention
Quote requests not followed up: up to 24 months from the last contact. Requests that lead to quotations, contracts or service work: for the duration of the relationship and then for the periods required by Italian civil and tax law (normally 10 years). Job applications: 12 months, after which we delete them. Technical browsing data: for the technical period set by the hosting provider. You can ask us to delete your data earlier, except for data that the law requires us to keep.
Who has access to your data
Within the company, only the authorised and trained people who handle the requests (sales, technical and administration departments) have access to the data. We also rely on some suppliers, who process the data on our behalf as processors: Aruba S.p.A. (hosting of the website and forms, in Italy) and Google Ireland Ltd (company email through Google Workspace). If you write to us on WhatsApp, the message passes through the service of WhatsApp Ireland Ltd (Meta group), under its own terms and privacy policy. We disclose data to consultants, couriers or authorities only when this is necessary for the contract or required by law. We do not sell or transfer data to third parties.
Transfers outside the European Union
Google and WhatsApp may also process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. In these cases the transfer takes place with the safeguards provided by the GDPR: the European Commission’s adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Job applications
We use your CV and application data only to assess your application for current or future positions. Please do not include unnecessary data in your CV, such as information about your health or your political or religious opinions. We keep applications for 12 months, after which we delete them; you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Our social media pages
If you follow us or write to us on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, your data are also processed by those platforms, under their own privacy policies. On our website, posts are shown as images and text stored on our own server: viewing them does not send any data to Meta.
Your rights
At any time you can ask to access your data, rectify or erase them, restrict their processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests or receive them in a portable format, by writing to info@guarnottaindustries.it. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it) or the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work (Article 77 GDPR).
